On the 25th November, 2021 the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “History and Prospects for the Development of Railway Transport in Russia and Abroad” was held in the St. Petersburg Technical School of Railway Transport in intramural and distant format. The conference came under the auspices of the International Association of Colleges of Transport (IACT).
The conference was divided into five sections:

More than 40 teachers and students from various educational transport organizations of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the conference. Teachers and students of the Higher College of Transport and Communications of Nur-Sultan, Tashkent Railway College, Orsha College(a branch of the educational institution "Belarusian State University of Transport"), Brest College ( a branch of the educational institution "Belarusian State University of Transport") took an active part in the conference.

In the first section teachers and employees of the technical schools of railway transport discussed relevant and problematic issues in the development of vocational education, implementation of WorldSkills elements in education and development of the material and technical basis for educational organizations.
In other sections some students of specialized technical schools presented reports on railway dynasties, eras in development of railway transport, tram traffic in Russia and abroad; shared information about professional practice and suggestions for improvements of various production processes; considered the issues of enhancing the prestige of the railway professions. The best reports in each of the section were awarded with diplomas. The conference resulted in publication of collected articles.
